A little about me ...

This is a little post for those of you who don't know me so well ... a little Introduction to Me if you will ...

So who is Emma? ...

I am a single mother to 3 children - Cadie (8) Michael (13) and Dylan (10).
You will hear me talk about Dylan a lot, I am in the process of getting Dylan diagnosed with an ASD and possible Attachment disorder (although it has been said the both are interlinked). It is a LOOOOOONG process. Dylan is a very angry and physical child whom I battle with on a daily basis.
As a result I have good days and bad days and I struggle to keep my hair on sometimes.
So if I snap at you or appear to be having a particularly shit day ... there's usually a reason for it ... or not ... sometimes I'm just plain bitchy!  (I'll save a Dylan blog for another time!)
I have been a single mummy to them since Nov 2005 when I left their Dad ... nothing untoward, I just fell out of love with him, it wasn't meant to be :(
I have had 2 relationships since ... both lasting around a year ... lets just say I have shitty taste in men? and then we'll leave that there!

I cry a LOT! ... It's true ... Adverts, films, books, songs, ... you name it I'll cry at it! ... Emotional farter right here!! ...

I have spent the last 4 years in the classroom!
2009 I decided I wanted to go to school and do something with my life so I did an access course. I passed it with decent grades. I applied to uni and got accepted and in Sept 2010 started a history degree ... EWWW! I hated it and left in the following may!
Went back to college in the September to do an Access to Health course (with a view to becoming a pediatric nurse) Passed with all top grades (except for one - damnit!)
Life decided that it would not be possible to go do a full time nursing degree, and by life I mean Dylan and his 'needs' so I opted for the 2 year Health and Social care foundation degree that I am currently on. I am a Trainee Assistant Practitioner and I will graduate June/July 2014! I will cap and gown and everything Wooo! ... TWICE! Once at Solihull and once at Oxford!

What is an Assistant Practitioner? ... It's a band 4 .. Not quite a fully qualified nurse! ... I will more or less be able to do everything they can though, except for drugs! ... I think of us as glorified gap fillers :P

But then what?

With this degree I can go in to a year 2 of a nursing degree to get my RGN status ... But do I want that?
I wanted pediatric but I will have to go into Adult! ... It's a possibility ... IF they accept it here in Birmingham so I do not have to relocate to Oxford!

Or

I am really interested in Paramedics!! ... I have been looking into Paramedic science (since poor old Alice got knocked down y a hit and run driver n the Coventry road, bless her :( ... ) which would still only mean another 2 years in the classroom! ... Although this way I would have to pay £15k! ME! No more loans! Unless I could find a service to take me on as a trainee.

Decisions decisions! ... I still have to consider Dylan in all of this and his needs ... At the moment I'll be lucky to graduate this course! ... I'm serious, yes it is that bad!

What else can I tell you? ... I am car jinxed! ... I passed my test in July 2012, Got my first car in Oct ... Got my second car in January ... Fingers crossed this one lasts a bit longer!! ... If anything is going to happen to cars it is going to happen to me! .
I name my cars too ... First car was Sedrick the Seat ... Now we have Cinders the Citroen (Or Citrosen as Dylan calls it)

Um ... I'm a bit of a Nerd ... I totally Nerd out about stuff ... we wont get into that right now ...

Um ... I'm bored of talking bout me now ... can we talk about you? ...

Just ask me questions ... I don't bite ... hard ... all the time!

Ok?!

Ok!

:)
